my favorite song to karaoke to.

I left a good job in the city
Working for the man every night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleeping
Worrying bout the way things might have been

Big wheel keep on turning
Proud mary keep on burning
And were rolling, rolling
Rolling on the river

this song gets me so pumped!

it's been a long night.

it's been a long night

thank god for friends like frank who will walk me home at four in the morning,
and stick around to listen to "running up that hill" by kate bush along with getting a portrait taken.

i think he also agreed to marry me tonight.

group photo shoot.

kyle johnson took this portrait of me while i was waiting for my models to finish getting ready.

sarah joann murphy snapped this one while i was directing camila for a shot.

yesterday we had many local northwest photographers, models, make-up artists, and hair stylists come out to the clise mansion at marymoor park for a day of collaborating to create lovely images. the day went so well, i really think it was one of the smoothest and most successful shoots that i have ever had.

you can see everyone's images from the day here.

freedom never tasted so sweet.

thank you america, obama, and last but not least, chromeo.

i recommend that you stare at this photograph and listen to "the bad arts" by destroyer at the same time.

$9 well spent.

today's photo shoot.

rachel

i took these of rachel for a contest she's entering that's put on by PETA for the sexiest vegetarian.
if she wins, she will be flying off to hawaii!
lord knows all of us seattleites need a sunny get-a-way right about now.

hopefully rachel will win... what a cutie!

career options.

i've decided that i want to be a flight attendant. i've heard from other ladies how rewarding it is... great pay, benefits, and a flexible schedule. most of all, i think that this would be a great career for me as an aspiring photographer, because i will be able to travel for free and take photos in different destinations.

i just wish it were the 60's and the uniforms were still as amazing as they once were in this photo...

guilty conscience.

on friday night, more of my red wine fell on to andrew's shirt than actually went in my mouth.
i thought it was a nice touch.

white trash.

trailer trash

this is one of my favorite photos that i have ever taken.
i shot this in rainier, washington some time back in high school.
the saddest thing is that i can't find the original film for this shot.
ugh.

health food.

i think i found my new favorite dish: burger-topped-pizza!

book-wormin'.

i am reading this book right now that my dear friend kristen lent to me called wonderful tonight by pattie boyd, a model from the 1960's who had the uncanny luck of being married to both george harrison from the beatles, and eric clapton. the song "something" by george was written about her, and the songs "layla" and obviously "wonderful tonight" by eric were also. what a lady!

there's some pretty entertaining stories that she has from that era, and both of these men, too. one of my favorites that i just read about eric clapton was a blurb about how "when the test match was on, he would change into his cricket whites, and if he was planning to watch a film like the godfather, he'd insist on pasta for supper."

i think i want to start taking some advice from mr. clapton and watch a movie like reservoir dogs with my ear chopped off or something. i can probably think of something far less painful that that... but i like where eric was taking this little tradition of his...

thank you for being a friend.

what happened to all of the clothing the golden girls wore after they stopped airing new episodes?
i guess my real question is: why aren't all of their amazing outfits sitting in my closet right now?

lonely seattle.

lazy days

it's so easy to find good friends here, but so hard to find a good relationship.
is it just me, or does seattle have some sort of love-curse on it?

"you can't always get what you want - but you always get what you need."
yeah, alright, rolling stones... i get it.
but that doesn't make me any less lonely, damn it.
